The plain-English version first: your cellar is yours, we never sell your data, and we only ever use it to run VinoStash for you.
We will never sell, rent, trade, or share your personal information or your cellar data with anyone for marketing, advertising, or any other purpose. No ad trackers. No data brokers. No exceptions.
We do not collect your contacts, your location, your browsing history, or anything from the rest of your phone. Campaign attribution uses only information written into a VinoStash link and does not use device fingerprinting, cross-site tracking, advertising pixels, or third-party analytics trackers.
For operating and improving VinoStash. Your email is used to sign you in, to send a one-time welcome note, and for service messages you request (such as password resets or an emailed cellar report). If you separately opt in, it is also used for Your Vino Life, product updates, notices, and specials sent through our email provider. You can unsubscribe from your profile or any marketing email. Campaign information is used to measure signup and paid conversion, credit the correct affiliate, and calculate commission; affiliates receive reports about their own aggregate results, not member cellar contents or private personal information. Photos you snap are processed automatically — and only at the moment you snap them — to read the label or receipt and fill in the details; they are not used for any other purpose, and they are not used to train anything.
You. Each member's data is stored in their own protected account record, readable only with that member's sign-in. VinoStash staff do not browse member cellars. If you use the Share this party feature, you are choosing to send a copy of that party (its details and photos) to the specific member whose email you enter — that copy becomes theirs. If you explicitly select Share these tasting notes with the Vino Community, the wine, your notes, buy-again choice, and display name become public until you unshare or delete them. Your cellar and photos remain private. Feedback remains private unless an administrator reviews and publishes it on vinostash.com.
Like nearly every modern app, VinoStash runs on established infrastructure providers — for hosting, the member database, email delivery, photo reading, and bot protection. They process data solely to provide their service to VinoStash, under their own security and confidentiality obligations. None of them may use your data for their own purposes, and we hand-picked providers with strong security track records.
VinoStash uses artificial intelligence (AI) to help read wine labels and receipts and to produce wine details, estimates, drinking windows, suggested bottles, and other recommendations. AI output may be incomplete, inaccurate, or wrong. Please review important details and use your own judgment before relying on an AI-assisted result.
Your photos and cellar information are sent to an AI service only when needed to provide a feature you request. VinoStash does not use your cellar content to train AI models. At the beginning of each signed-in browser session, the app shows a short AI disclosure and asks you to acknowledge it before continuing, unless you select Do not show this again on that browser.
Every connection to VinoStash is encrypted (HTTPS). Data lives with professionally operated, security-audited infrastructure providers. The app also keeps a copy of your cellar on your own device so it opens instantly — that copy stays on your device and is protected by your device's own security.
VinoStash is about wine. You must be of legal drinking age in your location (21+ in the United States) to create an account. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under the legal drinking age, and we delete any such account we become aware of.
If this policy ever changes in a way that matters, we will post the update here with a new date — and the promise at the top of this page is permanent: your data is never for sale.
By creating a VinoStash account you agree to these Terms and to the Privacy Policy above. If you do not agree, please do not create an account.
You must be of legal drinking age where you live. You are responsible for your account and for keeping your password private.
You own everything you put into VinoStash. You grant VinoStash only the limited, revocable permission needed to store, display, and sync that content back to you, to a member you deliberately share a party with, or publicly when you deliberately share a community tasting note. Delete or unshare your content and that public-display permission ends with it.
Don't misuse the service: no attempts to break in, no bots or scraping, no uploading unlawful content, no using the photo-reading feature for anything but your own wine life. We may suspend accounts that abuse the service or other members.
Wine values, price ranges, and drinking windows shown in VinoStash are automated, general-knowledge estimates for your personal reference. They are not appraisals, valuations, investment advice, or an offer to buy or sell. Links to outside merchants are conveniences — those sites are not ours and their prices and terms are their own. Always verify before you buy or sell anything.
Some VinoStash features use AI to help produce advice, estimates, decisions, or recommendations presented to you. These outputs are generated with AI assistance, may contain errors, and should not replace your own judgment or professional advice. By continuing after the in-app disclosure, you acknowledge and understand that these features are AI-assisted.
VinoStash celebrates wine, and it also expects you to enjoy it responsibly and lawfully. Nothing in the app is medical advice, and the app does not encourage consumption.
We work hard to keep VinoStash fast, accurate, and available, and we protect your data with real backups — but like every online service, it is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied. Label reading can misread; keep an eye on the details it fills in.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, VinoStash and its owners, operators, and affiliates are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising from your use of the service. To the same maximum extent, total liability for any claim is limited to the greater of the amount you paid VinoStash in the twelve months before the claim or fifty US dollars ($50). Some jurisdictions don't allow certain limits, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
If your misuse of the service or violation of these Terms causes a claim against VinoStash, you agree to cover the reasonable costs of dealing with that claim.
You can stop using VinoStash and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or close accounts that violate these Terms. If we ever discontinue the service, we will make reasonable efforts to give you notice and a way to export your cellar first.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, and any disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in California.
If we make material changes, we'll post them here with a new date. Continuing to use VinoStash after a change means you accept it.
